K750 Series FAQ's

  1. How do I change the font size?

    You need to use the "Line Size" button. When you enter the line size menu, you will first see "Lines Equal". Press the right pointing arrow key to scroll through the selections Lines Equal, Lines 1, Lines 2, Lines 3, Lines 4 and Lines 5-8. Using the Lines 1 as an example, try the following.

    (1) Press the Line size key and select the "Lines1" and press enter. You will see "Size 1d", using the right pointing arrow key scroll through the available selections. The font sizes will be displayed as clear blocks in a dark background. This gives an example of the font size in relation to the size of the tape you are using, the dark background representing the tape size.

    (2) When you find the size you want simply press enter and you are ready to type your test

  2. I see that the letter "Z" is the same button as the letter "Y", how do I switch between the two?

    Hold the SHIFT KEY and press the FILE FORM key, this will bring you to the CHANGE KEY prompt, Press enter and you will see CHANGE QWERTY, press the right pointing arrow to scroll to CHANGE QWERTY, press enter and the "Z" key will be enabled.

  3. How do I change language?

    Perform the same steps in answer 2, but at the CHANGE KEY prompt, press the right arrow key and you will see CHANGE PROMPT. Press ENTER and you will see CHANGE ENG. Use the right arrow key to scroll through the language selections. When you find your desired language press ENTER.

    NOTE: You can also change between inches and centimeters. While in the CHANGE menu, see above, when you see the CHANGE KEY prompt, use the right arrow key to scroll to CM:IN prompt and press ENTER. Scroll again to select between inches and centimeters

  4. The display is hard to see, what can I do to lighten or darken the display?

    To lighten or darken the display, hold the SHIFT button and press the DENSITY button. You will then see DENS. LCD and press ENTER and you will then see DENS.LCD followed by a number to increase. To increase press the RIGHT ARROW to increase the density, press the LEFT ARROW to decrease the density.

    You can also use these options to increase or decrease the PRINT DENSITY. When you see the DENS.LCD prompt, press the RIGHT ARROW to scroll to DENS.PRINT, press ENTER and you will see DENS.PRT. To increase press the RIGHT ARROW to increase the density, press the LEFT ARROW to decrease the density.

    NOTE: You can increase the PRINT density to +3 and decrease it to -3. The LCD density range is from +5 to -5

  5. How many styles of bar codes can the K750 print, and how do I print them?

    The K750 has 8 resident bar-codes. To choose one, hold down the SHIFT key and press the SYMBOL key. You will see BCODE CODE 39, press the RIGHT ARROW to scroll through the eight choices, when you see the bar code you want press ENTER. At this point you will see RES MEDIUM (resolution), press the RIGHT ARROW key to chose either medium or high resolution. When you have chosen the suitable resolution press ENTER, you will then see TEXT ON. If you want to print text with your bar-code press ENTER, otherwise press the RIGHT ARROW and scroll to TEXT OFF and press ENTER.

    You will now see a CK SUM ON (check sum) prompt using the RIGHT ARROW you can scroll to your selection , then press ENTER. You will now see P-SUM (print check sum), which allows you to print out the check sum with the bar code. Again, using the RIGHT ARROW key you can scroll through the options pressing ENTER when you have made your selections. Type in the bar-code information and press ENTER and PRINT.

    NOTE: The instructions outlined above were based on a code 39 bar-code symbology. There are variances between the different bar-codes available in this printer. It is recommended that you consult reference material pertaining to the style of bar-code you intend to use.

  6. What does the FRAME and SHADE options do?

    The FRAME option will put a printer frame around the text on your label. To select this option, hold down the SHIFT key and press the BORDER key. At this time you will see FRAME A OFF, press the RIGHT ARROW to scroll to the FRAME OPTION ON, you will note a frame around the letter "A" in the display, press ENTER then you will see AREA?CHAR. With the RIGHT ARROW key scroll through the FRAME option and with the RIGHT ARROW key choose either the CHARACTER, LINE, or the whole LABEL.

    You can enable the SHADE and UNDERLINE in the same fashion.

  7. What is the pitch setting?

    The PITCH setting is used to increase or decrease the space between the letters. TO enable this function hold the SHIFT key and press JUSTIFICATION key. You will see SPACE NORMAL scroll through the options with the RIGHT ARROW key, the options are SPACE NORMAL, NARROW, WIDE, and NONE. Make your selections and press ENTER. At this time you will see PROP ON (proportion). By selecting PROP ON no space will be printed to the left of the printed characters, selecting PROP OFF will put some space between the printed characters, depending on the selections of SPACE NORMAL, NARROW, WIDE, or NONE
