What Are Direct Thermal Labels?

Direct thermal labels are coated with a heat-sensitive layer that turns black when it passes under a heated printhead. This process creates barcodes, text, or images without the use of a thermal ribbon.

They are compatible with a variety of printers—including mobile, desktop, and industrial. This versatility makes them ideal for use in warehouses, shipping operations, retail settings, and distribution centers. Leading printer brands such as Zebra, SATO, TSC, Honeywell, and Datamax.
