What Are Thermal Transfer Labels?

Thermal transfer labels are printed using a wax ribbon, where heat bonds ink from the ribbon to the label surface.This process creates sharp, long-lasting images that hold up against smudging, fading, and exposure to demanding environments.

These labels are compatible with desktop and industrial printers that can use ribbons. Desktop printers usually take 1" core rolls or fanfold labels, while industrial printers are made for 3" core rolls or fanfold options.

Getting the right combination of ribbon and label material ensures consistent performance and clear print quality.
